The dogs need to be brushed for about 15 minutes daily. Though it is possible to groom the dog not so often. Thus actually the dog should b groomed at least once a week thoroughly. If not groomed regularly the coat will look untidy.

The main difficulty in keeoing the breed is grooming. It is imperative since they do not shed. The coat mats and must be brushed frequently (daily is best). The natural coat is long and curly, and the Bichon look is created by brushing the curl out while drying the coat. It is recommended to buy puppy from responsible breeders and check the kennel conditions.
